I sent in my application to be a writer for the University of Houston's newspaper, The Daily Cougar, with answers that were really just jokes. I got a call during the break by the op/ed editor telling me that he thought the application was pretty funny. I got the position.
A couple years after I stopped writing for the Cougar, I applied again, but this time to be a cartoonist. They wrote me back asking me to write for the op/ed. I declined.
